On another note, we've added a new critter to the farm! Remember that milk cow I wanted? Yep. Last weekend, we brought Millie home. We hope to have her bred in December, so we'll have fresh milk sometime next fall. Millie is a little intimidating because she has horns. Overall, she seems to be pretty well-mannered. I was even able to get a halter on her while she was eating from her feed bucket. It has been quite a while since she has had a halter on, so she didn't take to kindly to me trying to manipulate her. I successfully got her to turn around, and then... she was off to the races. (Ha!) By the way, I let go of the rope (in case you were wondering). I figured getting the halter on her was a small success for me, so I stopped while I was on a roll. Soon, Keith will be building a smaller stall area so we can hem her up and I can handle her better. She's five years old and has never calved, so I think she may be set in her ways. I'm sure I will be posting more about Millie soon, but for now, you'll just have to settle for a picture. :)
